Day one: Painting Over the old mural

On the first day, we did a wet blend over the old mural. A wet blend is when you use two colors you want to blend and paint them next to each other, and blend them with, in this case, a dry brush. The space we are working on has a wall with two types of textures. On the left side of the wall, there is a pebbly texture, that is very hard to get paint into, while the right side of the wall is really smooth and easier and a lot nicer to work on.
While working on the blend, Ms. Jones, our mentor in the project, told us not to worry if the blend does not look the way you want it to because a gradation can always be fixed in a rough area.
When we finished covering the wall, it had been four hours. We cleaned up the throw clothes and then planned for our next meeting.

Day two: painting on the trees

The second day we traced the trees and painted them with a light green paint. Over that with a darker green, we started to add a shadow to one side of the branches and trunk. Once we were finished with that, it had been four hours.

Day three: More details

On the third day, we added to the shadow with a brown that was made more transparent with water. We also started to add leaves with the same wet blend method as we used on the blue wall. This was four hours.

Day four: More leafs and flowers

On the fourth day, we had to add some more leaves in certain places to even it out, and then we started with the first coat of flowers. We decided we want the mural to have a message to save the bees, so we decided to have more flowers on one side than the other. When doing the flowers we only did the first layer of pink to come back to. Because it was so cold, we were there for only about two hours.
